The founder of COUNTRY
ROAD LOG HOMES is Garland Faw. He was one of the pioneers of the modern
log home industry. In fact, much of what is being done by many in the industry
was first introduced by Mr. Faw. In 1977, Mr. Faw founded Lincoln Log Homes.
It soon became the largest log home network in the world. One of the most
prestigious national magazines devoted its full color cover and several full
color pages hailing the invention of the pre-constructed log wall in the
January issue of Mechanics Illustrated in the year 1982.
Mr. Faw recognized several shortcomings in the log home
especially
in the area of air infiltration due to the shrinking of the logs after
construction. He also recognized the damage done by seepage of water between
the logs. His crowning accomplishment was the invention of log technology that
allowed the homeowner to tighten the total log wall at any point of time after
construction of the house.
He was told by many in high places in the log home industry that such an
option would be truly wonderful but that it was an impossible dream. Well, Mr.
Faw dreamed that impossible dream and transformed it into reality. He was
awarded a US utility patent. As you read on, you will be truly amazed.
